NorthShore Reflections

In the spring of 2008 I created two new works for the Earth Reflections exhibition at CityScape Gallery in North Vancouver. The gallery works were Tree – Stone – Echo an interactive installation that invited viewer participation and Sky: Earth: Water: Reliquary that presented the viewers with a digital reliquary representing Air, Earth and Water. I visited 12 sites along the North Shore as part of the research for these works and took over 1,000 photographs – some of which are included in Sky: Earth: Water: Reliquary.

While I was at each site I was struck by how each of the sites made me think of relevant topics from current discoveries in the worlds of science and technology to current events. NorthShore Reflections is the documentation of those thoughts combined with the photographs and site information. I would like to continue this first attempt at writing a book – to include deeper reflections from each site as well as to add other sites and photographs, outside of Vancouver and the North Shore.
